5 Tips to Make Your Guest Bathroom Inviting for Friends & Family

You may welcome guests into your home several times each year. When the holidays arrive or when the summer vacation season brings visitors to your door, you may want to make sure you have all of the comforts and amenities that your loved ones and friends will need to enjoy their time in your home. Along with providing them with comfortable linens for their beds and good food to eat, you can also make their stay more pleasurable by keeping a few necessities and comforts in your guest bathroom. As you decorate and prepare your guest bathroom for your visitors, you may create an inviting home by including these amenities in this room of your house.

Cozy Bathroom

Lighting Fixtures

When your guests walk into the bathroom first thing in the morning, they may not want to be blinded by harsh overhead lights. You can create a more inviting guest bathroom by installing softer lighting fixtures, such as recessed lighting in the ceiling or even torch lamps that are placed strategically in this room of the house. This softer light will make your guest bathroom appear to be more welcoming and inviting.

Warm Flooring

Like bright lights, cold flooring can be a harsh wake up first thing in the morning. When you want to spare your guests the cold shock of stepping onto cold tile or linoleum, you can lay down warm wall to wall carpeting or even area rugs that help your guests stay cozy while getting cleaned up in the guest bathroom.

Appealing Decorations

Even if you have modern and convenient fixtures in your guest bathroom, you may still lack the inviting allure that your guests may prefer for your guest bathroom. Along with installing flooring, lighting, and other necessities, you can spruce up this room of the house by including appealing décor like framed prints on the wall, silk flowers in vases placed on the countertops, or pretty curtains hung up on the windows.

Plenty of Towels

As obvious as this tip may seem to you, you should still make it a point to have plenty of clean towels on hand for your guest to use in this bathroom. Keeping a supply of clean towels hung up on the towel racks and folded in the linen closet can help your guests feel comfortable about getting cleaned up, taking a shower, washing their face, or otherwise making themselves at home while they visit you.

Stock Up on Personal Hygiene Items

As with the towels in this room, you also can keep your guest bathroom comfortable and inviting for your guests by having plenty of personal hygiene items on hand. Your guests should have access to shampoo, soap, toilet paper, and other personal hygiene items so that they can feel clean and comfortable while they are visiting your home.
